Charnéi Washington, MA, LMFTA
Greetings, I'm Charnéi, pronounced as Shar-Nay, and I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate offering telehealth services in Washington state. One guiding principle I hold close to is the belief that “healing begins from within.” I wholeheartedly subscribe to the notion that the light of healing resides within you.
In my view, every individual possesses the innate capacity to navigate life's myriad challenges and transitions. My role as a therapist is to partner with you on your journey, helping you to realize the goals you've set for yourself within the therapeutic space. However, I want to emphasize that this journey commences with you—you are the foremost expert in your own life.
My approach is rooted in empowerment, both on an individual level and within your relationships. I aim to amplify your unique strengths, offering unwavering encouragement, steadfast support, and complete acceptance as you progress along your path of personal growth and development.
I am also a mother, a partner, a forever student, and a lover of binge-worthy thriller/suspense TV. So please, feel free to share the latest craze at any time.
My Philosophy
I create a secure, accepting, and inclusive environment where teenagers (aged 16 and above) and adults from diverse backgrounds can freely express their true selves. My perspective is deeply rooted in Humanistic principles, and I tailor my approach to cater to the unique needs of each individual.
In my therapeutic practice, I utilize a blend of psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative therapy, and strength-based approaches. These modalities are aimed at helping clients cultivate coping mechanisms, reshape thought patterns, and modify behaviors, all while serving as a positive role model for my clients.
I hold a strong conviction in the importance of integrating a multicultural perspective into therapy. It plays a pivotal role in an individual's overall development and their ability to navigate the traumas that many people of color and those from marginalized communities may have encountered.
PLEASE NOTE: I am an out-of-network provider. I can, however, provide a superbill if needed for insurance reimbursement.
